Michelle Branch was arrested for domestic assault by the Nashville police department. Following the announcement that Branch was splitting from her husband and drummer Patrick Carney, arrest fell in line. As per the reports, the arrest took place after adding that court documents revealed Branch had slapped Carney in the face “one to two times.” Branch’s bail costs around $1,000.

Branch and Carney married in 2019. Moreover, Branch said in a statement to TMZ, “To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family.”

Eventually, the event that led to break-ups, Branch took to Twitter and accused Carney of cheating on her before announcing the split. They both have two children together and live in Nashville.

Michelle Branch Earlier Journey

Branch, born on July 2, 1983, in Sedona, Arizona, was the daughter of David and Peggy Branch. Branch’s maternal grandmother was held in a Japanese internment camp during World War II and moved to the Netherlands after the war. Subsequently, Branch’s mother was born in the Netherlands. Eventually, they moved to Arizona when her mother was five years old.

Michelle Branch began to sing at the age of three and enrolled in voice lessons at Northern Arizona University when she was eight. Branch received her first guitar for her 14th birthday. After teaching herself chords, Branch composed her first song, Fallen, within a week of receiving her guitar.

While supporting Branch’s interests, her parents helped her book local gigs in Sedona. Later they financed her independent album Broken Bracelet.

Additionally, starting from December 1999, Branch posted her two songs on the Rolling Stone website. Reo caught the attention of both pop rock band Hanson and former Rolling Stone writer and Los Angeles record producer Jeff Rabhan, eventually leading to two gigs opening for Hanson in 2000.

In June 2000, Branch self-produced Broken Bracelet, a compilation of songs she wrote starting when she was 14. Reportedly, the album’s inspiration came from a gifted bracelet. Interestingly, the bracelet was given to Branch by musician Steve Poltz at a Lisa Loeb concert she attended. Poltz told Branch that “When it breaks, you’ll be famous.” However, in 2010 the Broken Bracelet recordings were destroyed in the Nashville floods.

Michelle Branch Musical Journey

Branch rose to prominence in the early 2000s as a singer-songwriter after the release of her best-selling albums “The Spirit Room” and “Hotel Paper.” The former album included her breakout single, “Everywhere.” Recently, the song Everywhere celebrated its 20th Anniversary. Branch won a Grammy Award for her 2022 duet with Santana titled “The Game of Love.” Reportedly, Branch is preparing to release her fourth studio album, “The Trouble with Fever,” which is to be out on September 16. The tour might take place at New York City’s Webster Hall.
